Crisp in Mid-Century

Show a bed linen range the way a customer would actually encounter it — made up on a bed, in a real room, in real light. Not folded on a white background, and not photographed in a studio set that would have to be built, styled and shot before a single image existed.

The reference point was the Mid-Century era: simplicity, understated beauty, and a balance between form and function. The room had to carry that character without ever competing with the product sitting in the middle of it.

We built a minimalist Mid-Century interior around the product — clean lines, uncluttered space, walnut and white, a restrained gallery wall — then modelled everything to real-life scale so the bedding reads at true size against the furniture rather than looking subtly off.

The linen itself is where the work is. Textiles are the hardest product to render convincingly: what makes cotton look like cotton is how light enters the fibres and scatters back out, how the weave catches that light at a grazing angle, and how the fabric falls and creases under its own weight rather than being folded into place. Each of those was built rather than faked.

Then the room was lit to do the product a favour. Soft daylight through the space, letting the light play across the surface so the folds have depth and the white stays white instead of flattening out — which is what usually gives away a rendered textile.

Seven photorealistic images spanning the full range a brand needs: wide room views for lifestyle and campaign use, mid-range shots showing the bedding made up on the bed, and close detail of weave, fold and drape for product pages where a customer is deciding whether the fabric looks worth the money.

Because the room exists in 3D, the set does not have to be built again. New colourways, weaves or styling variations can be produced from the same scene — no location, no crew, and no physical sample required before the imagery exists.
